With the guidance of Bharathiya Guru Kainkarya Kulapathy, JOSHIER, VIDYA SEVA RATNA. SRI R.VENKATARAMA IYER, a branch of Sri Vidya Mandir School was started in a rented building situated on Attur Main Road at Ayodhiyapattanam. The School opening ceremony was held on 13-07-1986.
Sri K.N. Lakshmanan, B.A., Secretary, Sri Vidya Mandir Association, Salem hoisted the National Flag and Sri K.R. Pandurangam, B.Sc., Chairman, Sri Vidya Mandir Association declared open the School. Later a four-rooms tiled building was constructed and it was declared open by Smt.Kamala Jain, Member, Hostel Committee, under the Presidentship of Sri Harilal Vishindas Bathija, Vice-Chairman, Sri Vidya Mandir Association on 06-07-1988. Today the school has grown into a Senior Secondary School.
Another Primary School at Kannankuruchi got inaugurated during the year 1994 to serve that area of the city. The area has rich potentials of growth. Sri Vidya Mandir Association launched the 'Sri Vidya Mandir Foundation to offer educational expertise to other managements seeking help and guidance.
The Foundation today helps 22 such schools in the districts of Salem, Erode, Dharmapuri and South Arcot. Sri Vidya Mandir School at Shivaji Nagar has won Accreditation facilities with National open school and All India Association of Chartered Accountants - areas for educationally handicapped learners and bright learners respectively. All the schools of the Association follow CBSE syllabus and are well - equipped.
Bight Learners Library Programme, Career Guidance Cell, Language Lab and Sports complex are some of the special projects aiming at all-round development of scholars. The schools win All India Ranks in Board exams working with a rich co-curricular programme.
